The Sri-Lankan jackal (Canis Areus Naria), also known as the Southern Indian jackal, is a subspecies of the Eurasian golden jackal native to Southern India and Sri-Lanka. It is one of the 7 subspecies of golden jackal along with the Common, Siamese, Pannonian, Indian, European, and Syrian. They have lighter coast than those Indian (Himalayan) jackals.
