The Egyptian vulture, also known as the white scavenger vulture or Pharaoh's chicken, is an endangered bird of prey native to North Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and India. They mainly feed on carrion and also prey on small mammals, birds, and reptiles. The 3 subspecies are the African, Indian, and European. The vulture and the cobra are the national animals of Egypt and the cobra is the national animal of both Ancient India and Egypt.
