The Sonora beaver (Castor Canadensis Frondator) is a subspecies of the North American beaver native to Sonora, Mexico. They are the rarest of all the N. American beavers and may also bee found in Southern California and Arizona. We often think of beavers living North but it turns out they live in the South such as Mexico and the Gulf states.
