Chinese rhinoceros

The existence of rhinoceroses in Ancient China is attested in both archaeological evidence and by references in Ancient Chinese literature. The Chinese rhino was officially declared extinct between 206 BC and 9 AD. Their closest relatives were the other rhinoceroses of India and Indonesia. The most common rhino species is the Indian rhinoceros, which is vulnerable. Elephants also used to live in Ancient China.
