Hokkaido brown bear
The Hokkaido brown bear (Ursus Arctos Yesoensis) is a population of the Ussuri brown bear native to Hokkaido, Japan. North American brown bears feed on 40% of their diet. Bears in Japan feast on over 90%. The other bear species of Japan is the Japanese black bear, a subspecies of Asian black bear native to Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. The Sankbestu brown bear incident is the worst bear attack in Japanese history that happened in December 9-14, 1915. Brown bears in Japan can also be found in Northern Honshu.
