Serval

The Serval (Leptailurus Serval) is a species of wild cat native to Africa. They live in Morocco, Central, East, and South Africa. The Cape serval became extinct in 1816, maybe we can reintroduce servals back to South Africa. Like the caracal, the serval is athletic that it can bring down birds. There can sometimes be hybrids of Savannah cats and servals. There is an albino serval at Big Cat Rescue. The association of servals with human beings dates to the time of Ancient Egypt. Servals are depicted as gifts or traded objects from Nubia in Egyptian art. Servals are common pets in Europe, but became popular in the Americas only in the 20th century. It was also first described during the year of the Declaration of Independence (1776). Some other animals were first described that year too, like fishers for example.Which type of carnivorous mammal is your favorite? Felines, Bears, Canines, Mustelids, Pinnipeds, Mongooses, Viverrids, Procyonids, Hyenas, or Skunks? Leave a comment and let me know.
