The great auk was a flightless bird native to the North Atlantic and went extinct in 1852. The countries that it lived in were Canada, Greenland, Iceland, The Faroe islands, Norway, Ireland, and Great Britain. People think it was a penguin but it was not and penguins live in Antarctica, South America, The Falkland islands, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. The great auks floated like ducks.
