The Tien-Shan dhole (Cuon Alpinus Hesperius), also known as the Siberian wild dog, Western dhole or Northern dhole is a critically endangered subspecies of dhole native to the Altai and Tien-Shan mountains, and possibly Pamir and Kashmir. Taken in 1910, this was photographed by William Percival Westell. Unlike other dholes, the Tien-Shan dhole was yellowish and the other dholes are red. It apparently feeds on Siberian ibexes, arkhar, argali, roe deer, maral, wild boar, musk deer, and reindeer.
