Egyptian wolf
The Egyptian wolf (Canis Anthus Lupaster), also known as the Egyptian jackal or Libyan wolf, is a critically endangered subspecies of the golden wolf or gray wolf native to North, East, and West Africa and was classified as a subspecies of the golden jackal in the 20th century. In 2015, both golden jackals from Africa and Eurasia were found to represent monophyletic lineages separated for more than 1,000,000 years. The Arabian wolf and Egyptian wolf are the only gray wolves native to Africa. The Arabian wolf lives in the Sinai peninsula in Egypt.
