The giant anteater or ant bear is a large insectivorous mammal native to Southern Mexico, Central, and South America and is one of the 4 living anteater species. It is classified with sloths in the order Pilosa. This species is more terrestrial. The mothers carry their babies on their backs and is my mom's favorite South American animal. They have a long, sticky tongue to slurp up insects including ants and termites just like aardvarks do.
