African wild dog

The African wild dog, also known as the African painted dog, painted dog, Cape hunting dog or ornate wolf, is a canine native to the Sub-Saharan region. It's endangered like the dhole of Asia and the African wild dog is the only member of the genus Lycaon. In the animated movie Khumba, Skalk is an African wild dog who helps Khumba the half striped zebra get to the waterhole to get his stripes. There are between 3,000 and 5,500 individuals remaining.
