Merriam's elk

The Merriam's elk or Merriam's wapiti was the southern most elk species and it was the largest elk of modern times and it would have been the prey for the 3 extinct predators of the 20th century including the Arizona jaguar, Californian grizzly bear, and Mexican grizzly bear. The largest elk of all was the Irish elk. The Merriam's elk was declared extinct in 1906.
