Sardinian lynx

The Sardinian lynx (Lynx Lynx Sardiniae) is an extinct subspecies of the Eurasian lynx native to the island of Sardinia. In 1908, the lynx was declared extinct. The lynx was 1 meter, 35 cm in height, and the tail 33 was cm long. The cheeks were distinctly whiskered and the ears were tufted. It is one of the 10 subspecies of the Eurasian lynx along with the Northern, Carpathian, Balkan, Caucasian, Atlai, Siberian, Turkestan, Baikal, and Amur lynxes. There are only 5 best known subspecies; the Balkan, Siberian, Caucasian, Turkestan, and Sardinian. The lynx would have been able to compete with the Sardinian dhole, a canine living alongside the lynx.
