The Devon lynx

The Devon lynx was a Canadian lynx that escaped from a zoo in Devon, England in 1903. It killed 2 dogs and was shot and mounted. Wolves and lynxes were both native to the UK and are now extinct there. The Hexham wolf is also one of the few wolves that escaped from zoos in England. I wonder if a bear escaped from an English zoo there like a Eurasian brown bear from the Whipsnade zoo. The species of lynx that used to live there was the Eurasian lynx. Lynxes in the UK died out around 1,300 years ago.
