Hokkaido sika deer

The Hokkaido sika deer (Cervus Nippon Yesonensis) is a subspecies of sika deer native to the Japanese island of Hokkaido. In the 19th century, sika deer were almost hunted to extinction in Hokkaido and now it's making a comeback. Its main predators are red foxes, brown bears, and the extinct Hokkaido wolf.
