The Ethiopian lion (Panthera Leo Roosevelti), also known as the Addis Ababa lion or Abyssinian lion, is a subspecies of the African lion native to the Ethiopian highlands. In 2015, it was claimed to be a Masai lion that lived in Ethiopia. It is one of the 8 live lion species along with the Barbary, Asiatic, West African, Masai, Congo, Southwest African, and Transvaal lions. Like other African lions, the Ethiopian lion has a darker mane and bigger size.
