The Zanzibar leopard (Panthera Pardus Adersi) is a leopard species that lives/lived on the Tanzanian archipelago of Zanzibar including Unguja island. It went extinct in the mid 1990's and there are 2 extinct leopards that I know, they are the Zanzibar leopard and the European ice age leopard. This picture of a mounted specimen was taken in a Zanzibar museum. It is either critically endangered or extinct. It is estimated that many of those leopards were kept by witches and attacking local villagers. There are only 2 islands in Zanzibar including Unguja and Pemba.
