The tiger shark is a species of requiem shark and the only member of the genus galeocerdo and is commonly known as the sea tiger. It is the 2nd largest predatory shark in the world. It gets its name from its stripes and has a reputation for attacking people. It is a tropical shark. People often call sharks as creatures of the tropics living in warm clear water but sharks live all around the ocean from the tropics to the arctic and the only subarctic shark species is the Greenland shark.
This is my second favorite shark! I think it's eyes are really cool.
