The Portuguese ibex is another subspecies of the Spanish ibex that is extinct and it inhabited the northern mountainous regions of Portugal, Galicia, Asturias, and Western Cantabria. It went extinct in 1892. It was related to the Pyrenean ibex which is also extinct.
