Malabar civet

The Malabar civet or Malabar large spotted civet, is a viverid native to the Western ghats of India. It's listed as critically endangered but possibly extinct and there are 250 individuals left. In the 1990's, isolated populations still survived in less disturbed areas of South Malabar but were seriously threatened by habitat destruction and hunting because they live in outside protected areas.
