Barbary lion

The Barbary lion (Panthera Leo Leo), also known as the Atlas lion or North African lion, is an extinct in the wild specimen and is the largest lion species and lived in North Africa. South Africa's Cape lion had become extinct in 1865. The Barbary lion is the nominate species of lion. We should reintroduce the lions back into the wild. The smallest species of lion is the Asiatic lion of Gir forest national park in India. The Barbary lion is the national animal of England and the word lion comes from England. This is a male in Algeria taken in 1893. The last one in the wild was killed in the early 20's and 40's.
