Common sloth bear

The Common sloth bear (Melursus Ursinus Ursinus), also known as the Indian sloth bear, is the nominate sloth bear subspecies native to India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal. Sloth bears are also known as labiated bears and sloth bear attacks on humans are somewhere in the middle between rare and common. In Rudyard Kipling's story The Jungle Book, Baloo is a sloth bear because they live in India. Other bears live in India like the Himalayan brown bear or Asiatic black bear.
