Sri-Lankan sloth bear
The Sri-Lankan sloth bear (Melursus Ursinus Inornatus) is another subspecies of the sloth bear native to the island of Sri-Lanka off the coast of India. Like other bears, Sri-Lankan bears are omnivorous, that feed on berries, nuts, and roots, as well as carrion and meat. One of its main staples is insects, which it removes from rotting stumps and trees with its long, hairless snout. Sloth bears rarely kill animals and humans. Yala national park is a famous place to sight these mammals in Sri-Lanka. The Common sloth bear of the mainland is slightly larger than the Sri-Lankan sloth bear.
