The Guam rail is a flightless bird, endemic to the US territory of Guam. In the early 1970's, it was considered to be extinct in the wild. This is a Guam rail at the Cincinnati zoo. The Guam rail is Guam's state bird. In November 2010, 16 rails were released on Coco island, a 33 hectare small atoll 1 mile off the coast of the Southern tip of Guam as a part of its reintroduction 2 decades after its extinction in the wild.
