California black bear

The California black bear (Ursus Americanus Californiensis) is a subspecies of the American black bear native to the Southern parts of California and Oregon. It is claimed to be a relative of the cinnamon bear. The California GRIZZLY bear was declared extinct in 1924. The American black bear is the most common species of bear in the world but some subspecies are endangered.
