Indian wolf

The Indian wolf (Canis Lupus Pallipes), also known as the Southwest Asian wolf or Asian wolf, is an endangered gray wolf subspecies which is native to The Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. It is the intermediate size of the Tibetan wolf and Arabian wolf and lacks the former's winter coat. It's closely related to the Himalayan wolf and this picture of an Indian wolf on the left was taken at the Mysore zoo in Karnataka, India. I like the left picture better. Like the Arabian wolf (Canis Lupus Arabs), the Indian wolf has short and thin fur in the summer. Pups are born sooty-brown, with a milk-white patch on the chest which fades with age. The black ones are very rare. Its relatives including the Tibetan, Himalayan, and Arabian are all endangered. This picture on the right was taken in a Pakistani zoo.
