Eastern (Timber) wolf

The Eastern wolf (Canis Lycaon or Canis Lupus Lycaon), also known as the Eastern timber wolf, Algonquin wolf, or deer wolf, is a Canis Lupus subspecies native to Eastern North America including the Great lakes region and is classified as near threatened. It is the size of a coyote and a Northwestern wolf (Canis Lupus Occidentalis). This is a picture of a mounted specimen of an Eastern wolf killed on February 10th, 1907 in Washtenaw county in Michigan.
