Progressive gray fox

The progressive gray fox (Urocyon Progressus) is an extinct Urocyon fox native to the United States during the Pliocene and Pleistocene. Fossil records were found in 2 states such as Kansas and Texas. They were closely related to the modern day North American gray fox and the foxes in the Urocyon genus differ from the Vulpes genus. This is actually an 1881 illustration of a Japanese wolf.
