The crab eating raccoon (Procyon Carncrivorus) is a raccoon species native to Central and South America and least concern. It is different from the common raccoon and not a subspecies. This picture of a Uruguayan raccoon was taken in The Reserva de Fauna Carmelo in Uruguay. They are called crab eating raccoons becuase they eat crabs, lobsters, krill, shrimp, and other crustaceans. It has 4 subspecies including the Panaman, Brazilian, Uruguayan, and Argentine.
