Western falanouc

The Western falanouc (Eupleres Major) is an endangered relative of the Eastern falanouc native to Northwest Madagascar. Although the Western falanouc was 1st described in 1929, it was only recognized in 2010 in the Eupleres genus. The Malagasy carnivorous mammals on the IUCN red list also include Fossas, Cryptoprocta Spelea, Malagasy civets, Grandider's mongooses, Narrow striped mongooses, Brown tailed mongooses, and Durrell's vontsiras.
