Caspian tiger

The Caspian tiger (Panthera Tigris Virgata), also known as the Hyrcanian tiger, Persian tiger, or Caucasian tiger, is an extinct tiger species native to the Caucasus, Iran, Turkey, The M.E., China, and Mongolia and is the 2nd tiger to become extinct in recent times. However, they might still be alive and there is another extinct tiger that might still be alive and that's the Javan tiger. The Caspian tiger went extinct from 1958 to the 70's. It was the 2nd largest tiger species. Taken in the Berlin zoo in Germany in 1899, this photograph shows the Caspian tiger's exceptional size and deep torso. In recent years tiger skins have sold for $10,000.00 apiece in Japan and Hong-Kong. It is the only tiger species found in Europe including Turkey and The Caucasus. It is one of the 3 Panthera big cats native to Europe along with the Asiatic lion and Persian leopard. There are 2 tiger species native to Russia; The Caspian and Siberian tiger.
