Sri-Lankan leopard

The Sri-Lankan leopard (Panthera Pardus Kotiya) is a leopard species native to the island of Sri-Lanka off the coast of India and is endangered. There are 250 individuals left in the wild. Its population is still declining due to poaching and human-leopard conflicts. It was 1st described in 1956 by a Sri-Lankan zoologist  named Deraniyagala.
